As Director of Operations and Culture Czar, Emily’s primary responsibility is to align AnLar’s operations and processes to the team’s culture and core values, helping to ensure that every AnLarian experiences the people-first principles upon which AnLar was founded. On most days, she can be found working collaboratively with AnLar’s leadership team and across the organization on everything from our hiring process, AnBoarding, benefits and compensation policies, internal systems and processes, and anything else that generally keeps AnLar’s wheels turning.
Emily believes that an organization’s culture is just as important to the company’s sustainability as the product or work itself. Part of her effort to support and foster AnLar’s culture includes an intentional focus on the individual well-being of all AnLarians, recognizing that we tend to thrive and do our best work when we are in an environment that allows us to take off our professional “masks” and authentically support one another as whole people.
She is a RYT-200 yoga teacher and holds a B.A. in psychology from the University of Iowa and M.A. in Higher Education from the University of Maryland.
In her free time, Emily can be found practicing mindfulness through yoga and meditation, reading the latest book on spirituality or business (even better if it’s about both!), planning her next annual trip to Costa Rica, or savoring a hot cup of green tea in the morning…it’s the little things in life. She lives in Del Ray, Alexandria with her husband, Jesse, and chocolate lab and pit mix rescue pup, Kona.
