Becca Yi

Research Associate
Becca Yi

As a Research Associate, Becca uses her experience in social science research to support various projects that evaluate local and state educational initiatives, such as the FirstHand out-of-school program and North Carolina State Improvement Project (NC SIP). In her work, she particularly enjoys aspects of getting to think critically about processes/planning and creating dissemination materials.

Before joining AnLar, Becca was involved in research supporting the creation of academic assessments for students with cognitive disabilities. During this time, she analyzed characteristics of assessment providers in the U.S., conducted literature reviews, and collaborated with others to write reports. She earned her M.S.Ed in Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania and B.A. in Sociology from the University of Michigan.

Outside of work, Becca can be found enjoying a nice cup of tea or matcha and curled up with a fantasy book. Although her TBR list is already incredibly long, she is always looking for good recommendations! She also dabbles in crafty things, such as scrapbooking and drawing. When her homebody mood eventually fades, she enjoys being active through volleyball, running, and taking new classes through ClassPass.
