A state advisory council needed support on a range of topics such as clarifying the purpose and functions of the group, establishing the its role in relation to state reports and improvement plans, and setting priorities for the future.
Vermont’s Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) via Vermont Agency of Education
What We Did
We use previous experience supporting other state advisory councils and panels in their work to efficiently and effectively assist Vermont in establishing the role of the SEAC in relation to other state agencies and organizations, identifying Council purpose and goals, writing Council by-laws, developing a strategic plan, prioritizing tasks, and establishing and supporting ‘working’ council committees. We provide ongoing technical assistance to address each of these areas throughout the school year.
- Implementing effective stakeholder engagement processes
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the SEAC
- TA expertise in managing groups with disparate opinions and views
