Zartashia balances many roles and tasks at AnLar, from supporting various programs using her research and data skills, to holding down the fort as the office manager of AnLar HQ, to keeping the CEO organized and on track. Zartashia’s journey as a first-generation high school graduate and first-generation college graduate has led to her interest and passion for education equity. In her perfect world, every child would have an equal opportunity to a great education.
Before joining AnLar, Zartashia worked as a research assistant in the political science department at her former university. Her focus was on data collection and coding. She has spent several years working with students in Little Rock as an AVID tutor, AmeriCorps Vista and volunteer. As an intern at the National Association of Federally Impacted schools, she worked on a variety of projects related to Impact Aid Law funding and advocacy. Zartashia is also serving as a board member for America’s Promise Alliance, the nation’s largest youth impact network. A proud Arkansan, Zartashia holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where her coursework focused on secondary STEM education.
On any given day, you can find Zartashia listening to and transcribing traditional Pakistani folk music. She is a coffee enthusiast who spends time drinking, studying, and blogging about her coffee adventures. Weekend quests include farmer’s markets, attempts to be a foodie, and spending time with her family and friends.
