Summer Hughey

Project Manager

Joining AnLar as a recent graduate from George Mason University, Summer applies her various research and analytical skills as a Project Manager, synthesizing and summarizing information for AnLar’s clients. During her M.A. program, she was involved in a research lab that took on diverse projects involving early childhood education and children’s transition to school. This sparked her interest in analyzing and understanding educational outcomes, especially among preschool- and kindergarten-aged children.

Previously, Summer worked as a mental health partner at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Medical Campus at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children, which sparked her interest in child development and education, leading her to pursue a practicum at AppleTree Institute for Education Innovation, a non-profit organization that aims to prepare children for success in school and beyond. Summer holds a B.A. in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University.

In her free time, Summer can be found playing with her 8-year-old cat or drinking matcha bubble tea while reading one of her favorite dystopian novels (1984 is her favorite!). She also enjoys finding delicious recipes and re-creating them in her own kitchen or seeking out new restaurants in the DMV area.
