As a scholar and education professional, Destiny seeks to drive tangible social change through cultivating strong connections with communities and through strengthening methods of gathering information in order to better approach problems and develop solutions. At AnLar, Destiny uses her skills and values to support the improvement of science education in Philadelphia through the evaluation of FirstHand, a program that works with Philadelphia youth, offering out of school programming, to encourage creative and applied learning in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Before joining AnLar, Destiny worked on a range of research projects that explored issues of mental health and wellbeing in students in higher education spaces and that advocated for effective policy changes to improve K-12 school funding in Philadelphia. Destiny holds a B.A. from Swarthmore College in Black Studies and Educational Studies.
Outside of AnLar, Destiny is a poet and creative, spending her free time writing, learning how to self-produce music, and materializing her next creative project or collaboration.
